Mix of Parkour & Free Running & Tricking & Gymnastics Tutorials.

Here is what we got so far. These vids were made as a demo-starter and LearnParkour.com is currently working on expanding this part.
(Some of this stuff is Free Running, some is just basic acrobatics, yet we highly recommend to try easy things first and then move on to something you'd like.)
We are excited to let you know that we're developing an Open Submition System which will allow users to submit and rate PK and Free Running videos. The best rated videos will form LearnParkour.com Tutorials.

Anyway, so far, we hope you enjoy and find the following useful.

Cartwheel

You wanna do this on a line. As straight as u can. it helps lotz. The other thing people get wrong is the legs, da legs should not be bent (at all) at the knees. Keep your legs straight, it'll help make it easier to complete the rolling of the "wheel" (you). haha. The second hand does not come down at the same time as the first one. Wait for the right time to place the second hand. Gain momentum. Let it be a natural roll.
Rondo
Roll

* yeh, i already know i didn't get this perfect. i admit it, the roll is TOO forward and should be more diagonal. i am sorry.

i hope i won't be going to hell for it.
Monkey Vault

Easy as shit. Lots of people got fear issues with the edge and their toes. haha. They think they might clip their feet on the obstacle and go face down to the floor. This fear isn't that big on people who feel confident about being able to bring their knees up to their chest quick.
Triple Kong

a Kong is like a monkey vault except with the only requirement that you must fly (be in the air) for an amount of time greater that zero from the point you take off.. until the time your hands make contact with the obstacle.
360 Vault

AKA "Reverse Vault"
Superman

AKA "Dive Roll"
Dash Vault

Uhh, don't hurt your ass. =) Aproach the obstacle with some momentum.. then kick up with your strongest leg and immidately follow with the other leg. U wanna create the effect that both legs are coming up together simultaneously. As you are right over the obstacle extend your legs all the way and propell yourself with both your hands. ( looking like a --- )
Precision

Jump to a distant object and land on it. hehe. There are a few variations to the way you can execute this type of jump. The one I like is when you jump turn 180 degrees in the air and land facing where you took off from.
Cat Leap

yeah i know, we should have taped this from the side too
Rocket Vault

This is when u use a rocket to fly over an obstacle.
Speed Vault
Wall Flip

A. Focus on a chest-high point on the wall—this is where you’ll place your feet. Remain focused on that spot as you begin running toward the wall at moderate speed. Plant your weaker foot about a meter away from the wall and start leaning back.

B. Push into the wall with your dominant foot. The longer you look at that spot, the higher you will go. Try to angle your body completely horizontal, without jerking your neck. Lean your head back, as your torso will follow your head.

C. Place your weaker foot against the wall and flick your ankle to drive the rotation. For a quick and controlled spin, tuck your knees close to your chest. Maintain eye contact with the ground to spot your landing, and force your legs around toward it.

D. Bend your knees as you hit the ground to absorb the landing and retain balance. A smooth landing takes practice to perfect, and it’s painful when botched, so have a friend spot you at first.

But taking Martial Arts this year has greatly increased my confidence in my discipline. Haha. My question is, is there a relatively safe (Read very low risk of falling wrong and breaking my neck) way of practicing a Wall Flip? Obviously I won't be trying it for awhile, but when I do get there, what's a good way to practice without ending up in a coma/paralyzed? That's be great to know, thanks! :D

Hello! I would like to share with you my story of free-runnin'. I started parkour in the fourth grade , being inspired by diffrent sites and videos. I had no idea what parkour was. So i started practising the moves i saw in the videos. Some of the moves seemed easy , but they were pretty dangerous. So i tryed to limite myself to the easiest moves like the Monkey Vault , the Dash and the speed and thief vault. Then i started doing the harder moves....(about the fifth grade , as i am now) and i tryed the frontflip for the first time. I was amazed of the rezults. Now i realise that i improove my skills with every parkour training. Now in Romania , Codlea , where i live it is winter and it's snowing hard so i can't do parkour anymore, i can't wait to go to my spot and start doin freerun'. So for all of you who can't do a specific move , i'll say this : You gotta train , train , train to perfection

The fact that you made this website and compiled all of these moves is great, but they need some sort of dialogue or text to help instruct beginners rather than forcing them to try to be imitative- repeating a move over and over from different views is not really teaching.

I havent been at parkour for too long but i used to be a competitive figure skater. ive found that figure skating, tho not vigorous training (xcept conditioning), really builds up your flexibility and leg strength. I really recommend ppl who have trouble with that try skating a lil bit in their fre time. And i was at the runk once and i saw this guy like doing moves i recognized (wall jumps, flips, ext...) on ice. It waz like... amazing. If you thnk ur really good then get ur head outta ur ass n try ur moves on ice. I also do yoga, which is totally worth trying, and it is fun to use the straps n foam blocks i use in yoga in parkour. n if u fall yoga mats r gud to fall on :]

Real nice =D. I first started free running in middle school. (didnt know what it was called, i just had the flow, not the knowledge) Im 15 and in pretty good shape. 5'10" weigh 143 ib. ive mastered all the simple moves, like the roll, rocket vault, speed vault, and wall runs. (to me their simple) but i just can get over the fear of a faceplant every time i attempt to de the wallflip... I reeaally need help with this.. and i dont have internet.. sucks big time. i dont know any good places in homestead FL. it would be real nice if you guys could help me with that. ;)

Hi again. Since my last post on this cool website , by the way , i've improoved my skills. I can do the monkey vault , the front flip and my climbing talents have very much improoved. I've got one advice for those who think parkour is a dangerous sport. it is so don't be fooled of those videos. It's a very dangerous and usefull sport. Try hard and you will be amazed of your acomplishments. On the other side of pain is freedom. Yes i've hurt myself trying to do the monkey vault , yes i've hurt myself trying to do the dash vault , and yes i've hurt myself trying to do the frontflip. But......now i try hard and i realize that these moves aren't so hard to do if you got courage and skill. I usually do 5 hours of parkour every day (besides winter and cold days). As a training , i run for one hour continuus. After i do the training , i go to my spot and start freerunnin' . Sometimes i meet with some of my friends who are also traceurs , and i practise with them. Most of the times i do it alone. It's better to do it alone because you will not get distracted by the friend who is with you. Even at school , in lunch breakes , i put on my special shoes and i do parkour until the class starts. P.S : I live in Romania , Codlea and i'm eleven years old

oh, before i forget, i know u already said it, but you might want to re film the roll, making it more angled, and that superman is too arched, i suggest filming it over a metre long garden or something, to make it look more flat and spaced out, a high arched one looks kinda funny =D

I have an idea for a pretty simple video. With practice it's really easy. You should make a video of someone running towards a tall wall with a ledge and get them to run up it. I saw it on "wikihow.com." Just type in how to run up walls. I think it's pretty cool. Email me back. Later yo.

Okay, most of you are idiots so ill give you some tips. There are heaps of tutorials out there - not just on this site, but on americanparkour.com, parkourpedia.com, there's heaps out their. If your young (like me) then it's good time to start, i just learned how to Superman over gardens and it was pretty easy. Running up walls, learning to roll, simple vaults etc. are all good things to start with, so for all those newbs out there read this and start explorin the web. =D

Hi there... I've got two things to tell you. 1.) You should write sentences in correct English, something like "i can has cheezebrgrs" isn't that good for anything aiming to be in some sense educational... 2.) Don't put all entries of the guestbook beneath this site, the actual content of it is less than 5%... Also a description for every technique would be better. So long, phryk

hey. i have a tip. start out by just jumping off of stuff. learn how to fall. my suggestion: start at the park. the play structure (or whatever it's called) is ideal. moderate hieghts to jump from, and soft paddy foamy stuff to land on. then slowly move on to bigger things, and landing and such. but dont try to absorb all the shock of landing with your legs, you'll just break them. as soon as you land, bend your knees and try to roll away. or roll onto your face. whichever is convienent. and i know youre going to say something along the lines of " dont listen to him hes a dumbass" well yes, i am a dumbass. but it worked for me.

I know this isn't hard to perform, but every time I try, I screw up, either when I first try to plant on of my feet on the wall and then propell myself in the direction needed, or I screw up while running on the wall. A video tutorial would be much appreciated. =) Thanks, Adam

Just letting everyone know, there is a difference between Parkour and Freerunning. Parkour is not a sport, but is a lifestyle that involves from getting to point A to point B in the most efficient way possible. It requires a lot of devotion and discipline. Freerunning is where the flipping and fancy jumping comes in. Freerunning is Parkour but without the true goal of Parkour in mind. It is about being showy and making yourself stand out. It completely misses the point of Parkour. These tutorials display some incorrect and unsafe methods... and definitely should not be considered Parkour. He's probably also not an expert, and anyone that looks up to this guy for his fancy prancy stuff needs to look into what Parkour really is. Look at parkour.net and look for Texas Parkour. Those two can tell you what the lifestyle is. Parkour isn't a sport, there are no competitions, it should not be considered one. Remember: Parkour is a way of life.

hey guys, its pretty funny that i first learned what Parkour was off this site and i had made previous comments earlier this year. so i have had been training vigorously these many months and i as well as many others had begged you guys to post more videos. Now that i know what doing i know that these videos straight up SUCK, and i say this respectfully. I'm sure you guys are almost experts and have been doing this for quite a while, but these vaults are being done wrong and need to be fixed. I'm not saying you suck but these videos do. Like with the speed vault you put your hand on it before you jump, the video on the roll was on that dudes spine, the same with the dive roll. So please don't teach kids how to do Parkour the WRONG way. Please respond

humberto the thing is that if ure into parkour sooner or later you will end up hurting ure self but what you can do to minimize the chances of getting hurt is to get ure basics right. and most importantly u gotta have a good structure start with about 3 sets of 1 armed pull ups with atleast 8 wraps and as far as fear goes, dude you gotta let go of all the fear, trust me bro as long as u scared u wnt b able to do shit some where in your mind u gotta acccept the fact that one day u are gunna fall on ure head the more you accept it the less prone u are to getting hurt. stay comitted bro

NOT ONLY THE ADVERTISMENTS THAT ARE PLASTERED EVERYWHERE, BUT EVEN JUST THE WAY THIS "TUTORIALS" SECTION PRESENTS PARKOUR. PLEASE LOOK UP A LEGITIMATE PARKOUR SITE AND FIND TRACEURS IN YOUR AREA WITH WHOM YOU CAN TRAIN PROPERLY AND SAFELY. FOR EXAMPLE NEPARKOUR.COM FOR NEW ENGLAND AREA TRACEURS IN THE UNITED STATES I HOPE THIS SITE SHUTS DOWN IMMEDIATLEY ID LIKE TO ADD, SOME OF THESE TECHNIQUES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH PARKOUR, HOWEVER FREE RUNNERS AND TRACEURS WALK A VERY SIMILAR PATH AND USE FLIPS AND SUCH AS WAYS TO TRAIN THEIR BODY AND MIND
